Launching phase (post-investment)

Technical assistance and training of the personnel

Description:

During the existence of the enterprise, its leaders can feel the need of an outside contribution of expertise in order to solve a technical problem (associated to the production) or a problem of management.
Such contribution can take place in two ways:

  • intervention of one or more consultants in order to look for a solution to a concrete problem;
  • training of the personnel of the enterprise to specific production or management techniques.

Principle:

The DFI's propose these programmes only to the enterprises with which they have already a financing agreement - except for the CDE- although these specific missions and the bearing of their cost are the object of a separate agreement.

Development Finance Institutions

European bilateral institutions:
  • Only BIO, FinnFund and Simest propose that type of intervention.
European regional institutions:

The CDE proposes the following services:

  • training of personnel;
  • marketing assistance;
  • technical, financial and management diagnoses and audits;
  • specific assistance (quality management / certification, protection of the environment, etc.)

The maximum contribution of the CDE in the intervention cost is EUR 50,000 and the enterprise should cover at least one third of the foreseen expenditures.

African regional institutions:
  • Do not propose that type of service.

Multilateral institutions:

  • Do not propose that type of service.
